Former Juneau resident Christine Addleman died Dec. 19, 2007. She was 87.

She was born Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1919, in Juneau, to Jens and Marie Nielsen. She was the first of seven children, but the third of the "Nielsen Nine" raised on the "flats" in Juneau.
She married Oren Addleman, a commercial fisherman, in Juneau. They had one daughter. For a time, the couple traveled and lived in Jamaica, where Oren instructed local fisherman on commercial fishing techniques. She spent the majority of her life in Watsonville, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Al "Scram" Schramen and Ed Nielsen; sister, Elsie Schramen Cress; and son-in-law, Joe Fraga.
She is survived by her daughter, Dolores Addleman; grandchildren, Jody, Stephen, Brian and Melanie Fraga, all of California; sisters, Emma Houston, of Juneau, and Anna Kane, of California; brother, Jim Nielsen, of Juneau; nephews, George Houston, Jay Houston and David Brabaw, of Juneau, Pat Kane, of Sacramento, Calif., and Jens Nielsen, of Hawaii; nieces, Georgene Nielsen, of Fairbanks, Heather Drapeaux, of Juneau, Tina Kane, of Seattle, Carla Anecito, of Altos, Calif., and Carole Richardson, of California.
