The remnants of fireworks from a New Year’s Eve celebration were left in a Mendenhall Glacier parking lot in the Tongass National Forest Recreation Area. Littering in a federal or state park is a crime. The Juneau Police Department, Capital City Fire and Rescue, Alaska State Troopers and the U.S. Forest Service have numbers where confidential information can be given to report abuse and encourage the public to respect their surroundings.
