ANCHORAGE — An inmate jumped to his death from a balcony at an Alaska jail last weekend.
The Anchorage Daily News reports no foul play was suspected in the death Saturday of 44-year-old Ralph Kosbruk, a registered sex offender convicted in 2005 of attempted sexual abuse of a minor.
Kosbruk had been taken into custody at about 11 a.m. Saturday for a parole violation.
Officials said Kosbruk jumped from a second-tier balcony at Anchorage Correctional Center East a few hours later and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The state medical examiner’s office has requested an autopsy.
