... for support over the holidays
Thanks from the Glory Hole to the many contributors of warm adult clothes and toys for kids, wrapped by several Girl Scout troops and Chris Trostel's Montessori class, that were plentiful at our holiday party on Dec. 19; the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, which brought us Christmas cookies for our holiday party; and Den 6 Pack 6 Cub Scouts of Auke Bay, who contributed Christmas cookies for our Dec. 18 candlelight memorial service. Just before Christmas, we distributed more than 100 food boxes for families to have Christmas dinners at home, thanks to generous Juneauites and especially Channel Construction. Hams donated by other community members and cooked by the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints made Christmas dinner here at The Glory Hole very merry.
We are also very grateful for the anonymous angels who recently contributed funds for three new washing machines - you know who you are - and for Harri Plumbing and Heating, without whom we would have had a very cold holiday. On Dec. 20, our boiler gave out, and the crew from Harri Plumbing and Heating arrived so quickly to evaluate our options and install a new boiler that our building never ever got cold!
We are truly blessed and continually grateful to be part of this generous community.
