The Sitka Planned Parenthood Director Gretchen Clarke says: "Dr. Graham Chelius has consistently shown himself to be an advocate for women's health through his work as a physician for Sitka Medical Center, acting as the collaborating physician for Sitka's Emergency Contraception project and volunteering three hours each week of clinical service to the Planned Parenthood of Alaska, Sitka Clinic. At a time when the Sitka Clinic was struggling to find a clinician, Dr. Chelius stepped forward and offered to volunteer his services on what would be his regular day off from his medical practice. With his aid, the clinic has been able to expand the services offered to men and women regardless of ability to pay. Despite a busy schedule and full family life, Dr. Cehlius finds the time and energy to devote the cause of women's healthcare for all."
