Five Juneau-Douglas wrest-lers recorded pins as the Crimson Bears notched a 37-29 high school wrestling dual meet victory over the North Pole Patriots Thursday night in North Pole.

The match served as a tune-up for the West Valley Invitational Tournament that is scheduled for today and Saturday.

In addition to North Pole, Juneau and host West Valley, other schools participating in the two-day event are Lathrop, Chugiak, South Anchorage, Bartlett and Wasilla.

Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. today and 9:30 a.m. Saturday, with the championship finals set to take place at about 3 p.m. Saturday.

Steven Dyer led Juneau's pin parade on Thursday night when he won his match in 13 seconds in the 160-pound match. The Crimson Bears had three other first round pins - Joardan Sourland (171) in 1:54; Samson Keeney (189) in 1:26 and I. Otness (112) in 1:49. Juneau's other win came from Bobby Hunt in the 103-pound match in 4:32.

Tyler Zimmerman won an 11-0 major decision at 215 and Dante Santos posted a 7-2 decision at 130 to round out Juneau's scoring.
