A just deportation

Letter to the editor

Ernesto Guillen's (Empire, Dec. 28) wife, Gloria Orozco, quite incorrectly states that, "He is not a criminal" and therefore, "immigration officers shouldn't deport her husband."

Regardless if the infraction was yesterday, or 17 years ago, Mr. Guillen is still an illegal alien in violation of our federal immigration laws and should be deported ... period. All foreigners considering the notion of duplicating Mr. Guillen's attempt at subverting our laws should be aware of the fact that there are no statutes of limitations on such forcible entry.

The message of complete and utter personal and family chaos and mayhem, as outlined in this article, as the penalty for choosing to ignore our immigration laws, is exactly the kind of statement our government should be making.

I tip my cap to the agents responsible for this bust. May they have more successes.
