The late Stan Price, known as the "Bear Man of Pack Creek," walks with his movie camera near his cabin on Admiralty Island, about 30 miles south of Juneau, in 1980. Price lived in harmony with the brown bears at Pack Creek for 40 years. The area is now called the Stan Price State Wildlife Sanctuary. It provides protected habitat for brown bears and allows visitors to view and photograph the bears. Visitors must obtain a permit in advance from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
