Student Artist in the Spotlight

Bethany Bibb

Age: 7

Grade: 1

School: Harborview Elementary

Art of choice: Bethany likes to paint and sculpt.

How long: She started doing art in preschool. She painted butterflies and made clips for her mom.

Why: "I like to do art because it's fun, and I like to make people happy."

Favorite artist: "The one who drew the pictures in Rapunzel." She tried to copy her pictures.

Activities: Bethany plays basketball, soccer and hockey. She's in the bagpipe group with her friends, Laurie and Megan. She likes to play tag at recess.

When she grows up: She wants to be a sculptor.

You should know: Bethany has a dog and used to have a rabbit.

Her teacher, Patty Winegar, says: "Bethany is very creative, imaginative and independent. She uses lots of color when painting. She loves to paint at the easel. She takes art seriously."
