The chair lifts at Eaglecrest Ski Area are back up after some setbacks last weekend. General Manager Kirk Duncan said all lifts are now functioning properly, and all will be in full use this weekend.
“All lifts are going round and round,” he said, noting the Black Bear lift wil be open Saturday and the other three lifts will be operating Thursday.
The Ptarmigan lift was experiencing problems with its electric motor, taking it out of commission for 22 minutes while it was switched to diesel. Duncan said it will be decided later when to switch it back to electric.
The Black Bear lift was down for two days after some ice was found in a bearing, which Duncan said was able to be melted out. He said the lift is now back to its normal operating schedule.
The Hooter lift was also down for two hours because of a bad brake cylinder which led to improper braking that overheated the engine. He said a part was replaced.
