JDHS girls basketball sweeps visiting Sitka

Bear's Rhea scores 19 points in 17 minutes

Juneau-Douglas High School Crimson Bear basketball teams swept Sitka over the weekend. "Sitka is in a big rebuilding year," said coach Leslie Knight. "We had the chance to work on defensive strategies and a lot of younger players got some court time." Crimson Bears' Talisa Rhea had an impressive showing, scoring 19 points in only 17 minutes. Rhea was 5 for 7 from the three-point line as well.

Coach Knight said it was good preparation for their four Anchorage matches next Wednesday. "We will play against Wasilla, which is one of the toughest teams in Alaska," Knight said.
