JUNEAU - The Juneau Arts & Humanities Council invites the public to start creating for the 2009 Wearable Art fashion show, which exhibits Juneau at its most stylishly inventive. This year's theme is "Altered State."
Applications are due by 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, and the show is at 8 p.m. Feb. 14 and at 3 p.m. Feb. 15 at Centennial Hall. Handcrafted designs of all imaginable materials are encouraged and welcomed. Download the application form from www.jahc.org, and submit via e-mail only to email@example.com. There is no entry fee this year, and each entry receives one ticket to each show.
The Saturday show is a fundraiser for the JAHC artist grants and student scholarships. The Sunday show is a fundraiser for the Juneau Arts & Culture Center. Tickets for the event are already on sale to Arts Council members and will go on sale Jan. 15 for the general public.
