Public libraries host movie-making contest

Posted: Friday, January 09, 2009

JUNEAU - This month, and until Feb. 15, locals can enter the Juneau Public Libraries' Storytubes contest for YouTube.

Participants can be the star of their own movies by creating an online video review of a book. Ham it up, dress it up or become your favorite character. Videos should be 2 minutes long (or shorter) featuring only one book. Kids and Teens may enter a contest to win prizes. Adults are welcome also but will not be participating in the online contest.

Enter as an individual or as part of a group of two to five people. Enter between now and Feb. 15. You may enter online directly or through the library at the following times: 3-4 p.m. Jan. 13 at the downtown library, 4-6 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Mendenhall Valley library or 6-8 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Douglas library. The library will offer video taping at these times and places. To be filmed you must have parental or guardian permission.
