Favorite quote: "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change we seek." - President Obama
Message to Youth: "I would urge them to read, investigate and learn independently. I would ask that they involve themselves in their communities early and often. I would advise them that it is not one's age that determines one's worth, but one's energy and persistence. And I would remind them that the descending generations have great hope that the ascending generation is smarter, wiser and better equipped to tackle the world's troubles than they proved to be."
Falcons nominated in December: Student Jessie Conrad and staff member Lance Northcutt.
December sponsor: Rx Espresso.
Falcoln of the Month is an award given to any Thunder Mountain High School staff member, student, parent or community member for extraordinary acts of kindness at or for TMHS. Nomination forms can be found at the school.
A committee composed of three staff members, several students, a parent and a community member participate in the selection process from the nominations.
The award is sponsored by a different business each month. Any business wanting to give a Falcon of the Month award should contact Kathy McCasland at Kathryn_mccasland@jsd.k12.ak.us or 780-1967.
