Jacob Miller, of Juneau, recently was among 539 students to earn bachelor's degrees from Eastern Oregon University for the 2008-09 academic year. He earned a Bachelor of Science in liberal studies.

Kate Enge Duncan, of Juneau, received a Master of Library Science on Dec. 19 during commencement ceremonies at Clarion University's Waldo S. Tippin Gymnasium in Clarion, Pa.

Awarded were 275 bachelor's degrees, 14 associate degrees and 148 master's degrees. Neil Todhunter, retired president of UPMC Northwest was the guest speaker and accepted an Honorary Doctor of Public Service Degree.

Cornerstone Home Health would like to congratulate the following for completing the Personal Care Assistant training: Jessica Boerem, Judi (Mary) Brenna, Ruby Capua, Christina DePorto and Meaghan (Danielle) Williams. Each received a certificate of completion from the state of Alaska.
