FIRST LEGO League robot competition returns to Anchorage

ANCHORAGE - A Juneau Lego team will be among 46 competing in the statewide Anchorage Robot Rendezvous on Saturday at Dimond High School in Anchorage .

The team, which made a presentation to the Juneau Assembly on Jan. 4 about how the city can cut greenhouse gas emissions, will represent Southeast Alaska.

This annual event, sponsored by the Juneau Economic Development Council, the U.S. Department of Defense and BP, is one of four regional For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Lego League competitions in Alaska.

Teams will compete for a chance to move on to the FLL 2009 Smart Move Festival in Atlanta from April 14 to 17.
