Mallott joins ACS board: Alaska business, political and Native leader Byron I. Mallott of Juneau has been appointed to the board of directors of Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc., parent company to local telephone provider PTI Communications.
Mallott, former executive director of the Alaska Permanent Fund Corp., is president of the Alaska Federation of Natives Foundation. For 20 years, he also held various top positions in Sealaska, the regional Native corporation. His past government positions include mayor of Yakutat, mayor of Juneau and co-chair of the Governor's Commission on Rural Governance and Empowerment.
Conte joins finance society: Robert P. Conte of Juneau, a specialist in fee-based financial planning who is registered with MetLife Securities, Inc., has qualified for membership in the Society of Financial Service Professionals.
Founded in 1928 and headquartered in Bryn Mawr, Penn., the society is the premier organization for credentialed professionals in the financial service industry. Society members commit to the organization's code of ethics and professional standards.
Lane advances in medical esthetics: Sharon Lane of the Skin Experience has been promoted to a medical esthetician after successfully completing an intensive advanced medical esthetics program at Central Texas College in Killeen.
Lane was instructed in patient-oriented treatments and conducted procedures relating to pre-operative/post-operative management, clinical implications, chemical peels, Microdermabrasion, and continuity of patient care.
