Police and fire blotter

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Assaults:

A woman, 57, reported about 8:30 p.m. Monday that her daughter, 24, was being assaulted in Douglas by a man, 27. Investigation continues.

A man, 44, reported that he was being assaulted shortly before 10 p.m. at a store in the Lemon Creek area. He was being assaulted by the ex-husband, 31, of the woman, 30, with whom he was shopping. Investigation continues.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday, a woman, 27, reported from the Lemon Creek area that she was being assaulted by a man, 29. Police responded, arrested the man for domestic violence assault and lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Thefts:

A man, 38, reported about 10:30 p.m. Monday that his 10-foot inflatable boat had been stolen some time in the past week from his home in Switzer Village trailer park. He had no leads or suspects.

Attempted fraud:

A man, 32, reported about noon Monday from Mint Way that a person called and identified himself as an employee of a security company and requested his Visa card number. He declined, and the caller hung up.

Vehicle accidents:

At about Mile 2 of North Douglas Highway, shortly before 1 p.m. Monday, a man, 25, from Washington, D.C., lost control of a rental Ford Explorer he was driving outbound. Two mailboxes were destroyed, and the vehicle suffered an estimated $1,000 damage. The man was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
