Ephedra banned, tobacco still OK?

Letter to the editor

It was very easy for the FDA to ban products containing Ephedra after a prominent sports figure died and another 150 deaths were attributed to Ephedra across the nation over a period of years.

Tobacco products kill and effect the health of thousands every year. Yet because of the strong industry tobacco lobby, the millions in profits and the taxes garnered by the government and the states. All coming in from the sale of tobacco products, the FDA allows tobacco products to be legal for sale and consumption. I'm not trying to build a case for Ephedra, on the contrary if it kills, get rid of it. I'm just pointing out, that it just goes to show you how money talks and you know what walks!
