Organization description: Patients can receive a variety of health care services at home through Hospice and Home Care of Juneau including nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and social work. In addition, we offer hospice care at home to patients diagnosed with a terminal illness. We also offer in-home volunteer support to our clients as well as bereavement support to the general community.

Volunteer positions available: While HHCJ provides direct health care to clients, it also needs behind-the-scenes office and clerical support. Sometimes this means answering phones, entering data or helping get caught up on filing. Sometimes it means designing brochures. HHCJ requires an initial interview and application. Volunteer may be required to get a background check. Application will be matched to projects according to skills and availability. Must be 18 or older. Volunteers are needed during weekdays.

• Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a weekly feature on the Neighbors page and is in collaboration with the United Way of Southeast Alaska. More volunteer opportunities can be found online at the Volunteer Center of Southeast Alaska,
