World Affairs Council announces schedule

JUNEAU - The Juneau World Affairs Council recently released its spring schedule of presentations.

The following are upcoming presentations: Rigzden Thingkhye, of Tibet, at 5:30 p.m. today at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center; "Breakfast with the President," live broadcast of the presidential inauguration with potluck breakfast for all in Juneau, at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 20 at Centennial Hall; JWAC Travelogue: Hungary presentation by Deb Smith, at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Gold Town Nickelodeon; "Impact Games for Peace" presentation by Eric Brown at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at KTOO; JWAC World Quest competition and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 23 at Centennial Hall; "U.S. and Iran" presentation by Nosratollah Rassekh at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at KTOO; JWAC Travelogue: China presentataion by John Roxburgh, at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Gold Town Nickelodeon; World Affairs Councils Annual Event in Washington, D.C., Feb. 18-21; presentation by Lobsang Nyandak, representative of Dalai Lama, at 5:30 p.m. March 20 at KTOO; JWAC Travelogue: Medieval Europe presentation by D. Mertz and M. Waring, at 5:30 p.m. April 21 at the Gold Town Nickelodeon; JWAC Travelogue: Malawi presentation by Paul Beran, at 5:30 p.m. May 5 at the Gold Town Nickelodeon; JWAC World Affairs Forum on "Climate Change, Diplomacy, and the Northern Oceans," May 9 and 10 at the JACC; and JWAC speaker Joseph Montville, on Middle East diplomacy, at 5:30 p.m. May 20 at KTOO Studio.
