Police reported Sunday that fatal wounds in Saturday's stabbing death in the Mendenhall Valley may have been self-inflicted.
Results are still pending on an autopsy ordered in the death of Juneau resident Aaron Whicker, police said Sunday.
Whicker, 26, died at Bartlett Regional Hospital early Saturday morning from stab wounds to the chest. He had been taken to the hospital from a Duran Street residence by ambulance.
Police interviewed several family members who were at the residence when the 911 call was placed. On Saturday, police said public safety was not compromised but the department would not rule out the possibility of foul play.
On Sunday, police said the preliminary investigation indicates the death could be ruled a suicide. The case is still under investigation.
