Longtime Alaska resident Karl G. Budinger died Dec. 26, 2001, in Tucson, Ariz.
Born July 16, 1927, Budinger came to Alaska in the early 1950s. He worked in logging camps throughout Southeast Alaska, where he was known to many as "Moose." He lived in Juneau for several years in the 1960s.
In 1973 he was employed by the Alaska Office of Safety and Health Administration. He retired in 1985.
He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Metzger and David Budinger; brothers Charles and Phil, Tucson, Ariz., and Herb, Lock Haven, Pa.; and sister Sara Budinger Peterson, Homer.
