My heart is full and overflows through my eyes as I pray about the effects of the tsunami. I shed tears of sorrow and compassion for the immense suffering and loss, as well as tears of gratitude for the worldwide outpouring of prayers, money, materials and physical assistance. The lives of those affected by this disaster will never return to where they were before, but by the grace of God and the efforts of loving souls all over the world, their suffering, pain and devastation will be healed.
May those who died not have died in vain. May those who suffer not suffer in vain. And may those who lived be enriched by the experience that they are loved and cared for by their brothers and sisters from all over the world and by our one, shared, loving Father God. May their suffering continue to draw forth from our hearts the love, generosity and compassion of God put within each of us when He created us in His image. May we increasingly see the whole earth as our home and all mankind as our family.
I send my prayers and donations to those who suffer and my deep and heart-felt gratitude to all the wonderful people in Skagway, in Alaska and in the whole world who are part of this loving, healing, unifying process.
God Bless you all.
