Juneau resident Carol Louise Krause died Jan. 10, 2006, in Juneau after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born Sept. 17, 1947 in Seattle. She graduated from Anacortes High School. She attended Lutheran Bible Institute of Seattle and Washington State University. She worked as a public assistance clerk for the Department of Health and Social Services for the state of Alaska.
She enjoyed quilting, traveling and entertaining friends and family at her home.
She is survived by her husband, Gerd Krause of Juneau; her mother, Margie Rice of Anacortes, Wash.; her sister, Marie Rice of Issaquah, Wash.; her brother, David Rice and his wife Janet of Anacortes; her brother, Robert Rice and his wife Yuko of Bejing; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her wish was to be cremated. A memorial service will be 4:30 p.m., Jan. 18 at Chapel by the Lake followed by a reception at the Baranof Hotel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carol Krause Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo bank for the embellishment of the Bartlett Memorial Hospital's Infusion Center.
