JUNEAU — Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski expects to retain her position as ranking member on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
Robert Dillon, a spokesman for the committee’s Republican members, says he’s gotten no indication that her position is in jeopardy.
It has yet to be decided how many positions the minority Republicans will have on all committees. Once that’s set, Republican members decide on the ranking position, or highest post given the party on a set panel.
He says traditionally the position has been dictated by seniority.
Murkowski was sworn in this month for her second full term.
