Driving while intoxicated:
About 11 p.m. Friday, Dennis Dhaenens, 30, was arrested on Crow Hill Drive, Douglas, for drunken driving. He was additionally charged by police with refusal to take a breath test and driving without a license. He was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. The vehicle was released to a sober, licensed driver.
Thefts, lost and found items:
About 5:30 a.m. Saturday, a police officer found a tan duffel bag at Marine Park. The bag was placed into safekeeping pending notification of its owner.
About 9:30 p.m. Friday, a man, 35, was arrested for criminal trespass at the Juneau-Douglas High School. He was transported to and lodged at state prison.
About 10:30 p.m. Friday, a man, 21, was arrested in the Mendenhall Mall parking lot on an outstanding warrant and a sixth-degree misconduct involving controlled substances charge. He was transported to and lodged at state prison.
About 12:30 p.m. Friday, police responded to a motor vehicle accident at 7 Mile Glacier Highway. A woman, 22, was cited for failure to maintain a safe distance after her 1991 Honda Civic rear-ended a 1990 Chevrolet pickup. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to the Honda and $1,000 to the Chevy.
About 5:15 p.m. Friday, police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Egan Drive outbound near the McNugget intersection. A 1993 Chevrolet Blazer operated by a girl, 16, struck a 1980 Dodge pickup operated by a man, 44. The girl was cited for unsafe speed. The Blazer suffered about $1,500 damage; the Dodge, about $200.
About 8:40 a.m. Friday, a man, 18, reported his Ford Bronco hit and run on Hayes Way while parked Jan. 6. The vehicle sustained a dent to the passenger front fender. There were no leads or suspects.
About 12:30 p.m. Friday, Capitol City Fire & Rescue responded to a report of a woman who had suffered an ankle injury in a fall outside the University of Alaska Southeast library. She was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment.
About 1:45 p.m. Friday, Capitol City Fire & Rescue responded to a report of an apparent stroke victim on Douglas Highway. The patient was transported to BRH.
At 3 p.m. Friday, the Alaska State Troopers charged a Juneau man, 64, with failure to register as a sex offender. The man was issued a summons to appear in court.
