Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

• Jean Wittig, 47, was arrested for drunken driving at 8:49 p.m. Monday near inbound Egan Drive and Twin Lakes. She was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


• Police cited a man, 43, for assault at 11:16 p.m. Monday near Lemon Creek Road. He was released.

• A man, 49, was arrested for domestic violence assault at 6:11 a.m. today in Douglas. He was lodged at the state prison. Police believe alcohol was a factor.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• A satellite dish was reported damaged at 11:51 a.m. Monday near Front Street. Police did not have a damage estimate.

• A 2002 Ford truck was reported damaged at 5:57 p.m. Monday near Glacier Highway.

Hit-and-run incidents:

• A 2003 Pontiac Grand Am was reported struck by an unknown vehicle at 2:15 p.m. Monday near Glacier Highway. Damage was estimated at $1,100.

• A 1996 Toyota Tercel was struck by an unknown silver pickup around 4:36 p.m. Monday near Glacier Highway. The Toyota sustained scratches to its front bumper and hood as well as a dented license plate. Police didn't have a damage estimate.


• A wheelchair was reported found at 9:29 a.m. Monday near North Franklin Street.

• Police arrested a man, 27, on an outstanding Alaska State Trooper warrant at 2:04 p.m. Monday near Churchill Way for failure to appear in court. The original charges against him were vehicle theft and failure to appear for a hearing. He was lodged at the state prison.
