With regard to the recent letters concerning Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, a very few fundamentalist Christians may object to these stories as inappropriate for children due to fantasy or magic content in spite of the fact that they are rife with characters exhibiting the highest moral standards, fighting amoral forces as well as their own internal demons, and ultimately triumphant. Wouldn't want children of mine learning such things!
When you think about it, isn't what is considered magic or fantasy really a matter of perspective? A non-Christian may well consider casting out demons, turning water into wine, raising the dead, virgin births and the embarrassing stage performances of religious TV to be examples of magic or fantasy, while Christians would never (save perhaps, the religious TV example) consider them as such.
