Former Juneau resident Raymond James Martin died Dec. 21, 2007, in Ennis, Texas. He was 58.

Born July 23, 1949, in Juneau, he was a cook and Juneau resident for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nancy Martin, of Texas: son, Kelly James Hill and his wife, Linda, and their children, Allie and Kade Hill, of Texas; brothers and sisters, Walter Martin, of Texas, and Becky Martin, Ramona Gerber, Rick Johnson, Minnie Dalton, Marie Johnson, Art Johnson, all of Alaska, and Cynthia Johnson, of Washington; brother-in-law and friend, Stanley Haba; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; stepfather, Edward Fox; sister, Caroline Martin; and brother, Byren Martin.
Services were on Dec. 30 in Ennis. Per his request, he was cremated. His ashes were returned to Alaska where they will be scattered at a later date.
