Name and Firm: Josh Moeser is partners in a new Juneau business, Southeast Cycle Works, with his wife, Kate Kokotovich. Kokotovich, who has years of experience in accounting, will keep the books for the repair and maintenance business.
Services: Southeast Cycle Works repairs Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki motorcycles plus other machines made by American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Background: Moeser, 31, grew up in Juneau and himself rides a Honda XR-400. He has factory-authorized training from a "top school," and has been in the motorcycle repair business for about 10 years.
Before founding his own motorcycle repair shop, he worked for Allen Marine Tours/Auk Nu Tours in Auk Bay.
Out-of-towners have a unique access to this new business: "I would like to serve all the people of Southeast Alaska," Moeser said. "I am willing to pick up bikes or any other power equipment such as snow blowers, Honda water pumps or lawn mowers, off the ferry and then ship them out again."
"I can repair anything Honda makes except for outboard motors," he added.
Family: Moeser and his wife are the parents of two young sons, Jacob, 5 years old, and Andrew, 2 years old. Moeser's father and mother and brother and sisters also live in Juneau.
Quotable: "We intend to give good service so customers will want to come back," Moeser said. "There are no Yamaha or Suzuki dealerships in Juneau, and no one else is repairing those makes of motorcycle."
