Backcountry medical course offered in Sitka

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium is sponsoring a backcountry medical training course Feb. 19-21 in Sitka.

This 16- to 24-hour Wilderness Medicine Recertfica- tion-Challenge Recertification course will enable students to deal with medical emergencies when they are miles away from help and dialing 911 is not an option. This course is recommended for all outdoor professionals who need to recertify their certification for their wilderness medical training.

Graduates will receive appropriate certification by Wilderness Medical Associates, which is valid for three years, as well as anaphylaxis certification.

Contact Mike Motti at (907) 966-8771 or serems@alaska.com for location and registration information. Call toll-free, (888)-WILDMED, or log on to http://www.wildmed.com for course description and future courses.
