Rennie scores a hat trick to lead CCFR to victory in Tier A

Gary Rennie scored a hat trick and Shannon Seifert had a goal and two assists in the Capital City Fire and Rescue's win over Air Excursions 5-1 in a Juneau Adult Hockey Association Tier C game on Sunday at Treadwell Arena.

Steve Lewis scored and Bill Hill had an assist in the win.

Jeff Goetz stopped nine shots for CCFR.

Alpheus Bullard scored Air Excursions' lone goal in the first period and Scott Sell made 15 saves.

TIER A

Grey 3, Team 5 2

The Grey scored three goals in the third period to knock off Team 5 on Sunday.

Todd Vodanskey scored twice and Mike Farrell scored in the win. Jim Sheehan had two assists and Nate Haddock added an assist while Stephen Morrison made 16 saves in the win.

Team 5's Aaron Jacobs and Colin Osterhout scored in defeat. Brian Drew, Dan Fabrello, Jacobs and Osterhout had assists while Ben White made 27 saves.

TIER B

Maroon 3, Orange 0

Jodie Pessolano stopped 15 shots to preserve the Maroon's shutout win over the Orange.

Bobby Johns and T.J. Lazar had a goal and an assist each while Liam Carnahan had a goal in the win. Brian Van Kirk posted two assists and Loni Van Kirk contributed one assist in the win.

For the Orange, Darryl Tseu stopped 16 of 19 shots.

Junkies 4, The Sloths 2

The Junkies rallied from a 2-1 first-period deficit to down the Sloths.

Shawn Haase scored twice and had one assist, James Langel had a goal and an assist and Ernie Hard scored for the Junkies. Eugene Pawlik had two assists and Cecile Elliot assisted on one of Haase's goals in the win.

Liam Carnahan made 12 saves in the win.

For the Sloths, Mason Morriss scored twice while Dave Bartlett, Thomas McKenzie and Josh McAdoo picked up the assists.

Sloths goaltender Dawn Voss made six saves in defeat.

WOMEN'S A

Blue 0, Victorious Secret 0

Three periods couldn't produce a goal between the Blue team and Victorious Secret on Sunday.

Jess Parks stopped 14 shots for Victorious Secret and Jodie Pessolano made 10 saves for the Blue.

WOMEN'S B

Les Schwab 6, Alaska Glacier 1

Ebett Siddon scored a hat trick and Ellen Canapary added two goals and an assist in Les Schwab's opening day win over Alaska Glacier.

Kara Winegar scored while Mary Haulser, Wendy Hickok and Shelly Eidsness added assists in the win.

Karla Bush turned back six of seven shots in the win.

For Alaska Glacier, Debbie Vance scored a first-period unassisted goal. Christy Baseden made 15 saves in defeat.
