This weekend we attended a smart, funny and good-hearted play at Perseverance Theater. Wittenberg is an unlikely conversation between Hamlet, Martin Luther, John Faustus, and several characters known collectively as "The Eternal Feminine." The play is a philosophical argument about the nature of good and evil, free will and man's place in the universe - questions as relevant to our 21st century lives as to these 16th century characters.
The stage design is beautifully created by Art Rotch who has recently returned to Juneau as the theater's artistic director. It looks like this season's plays at Perseverance are the beginning of a new era for that organization. Congratulations to all involved and thank you for a delightful and entertaining evening of theater.
