Mitey Mites registration - Registration for the Juneau Ski Club's Mitey Mites program is underway. The program runs 10 weeks and takes place 9:30 a.m.-noon on Saturdays, from Jan. 10 to March 14. Mitey Mites introduces young skiers, between ages 7 and 12, to ski racing with certified professional instructors, with the objectives of improving skiing skills and having fun. The focus is on fun, safety and learning the basics of racing in small groups with peers of similar age and ability. If enough interest, a Sunday morning session may be offered. Registration forms are available at Foggy Mountain Sports, the Nugget Alaskan Outfitter, Play It Again Sports, the Fieldhouse or at Eaglecrest Ski Area. Juneau Cheer Club offers elite snow removal - As long as there is snow, the Juneau Cheer Club will offer elite snow removal anywhere in Juneau from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends and 4 to 7 p.m. on weekdays. Tornados Youth Wrestling Club registration - Registration for Tornados' wrestling, for boys and girls age 5-18 interested in learning wrestling skills, is now through March 15. Practice for age 5-18 will begin Jan. 12. Adult wrestlers and coaches are welcome and encouraged to participate. Youth referees needed - Juneau Parks and Recreation is looking for referees for the upcoming youth basketball season. Juneau Department of Parks and Recreation Wednesday and Saturday hikes - For updates on locations of Wednesday and Saturday group hikes, call the Juneau Parks and Rec Hikes Hotline. Mount Jumbo Gym rentals - Parks and Recreation is accepting reservations for rentals of the Mount Jumbo Gym. The gym is open for rental from until Dec. 30. Zach Gordon Youth Center climbing wall - Climbing wall hours are 5-7 p.m. on Mondays, and 3:30-7 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The climbing wall can be used by people of all ages. Climbers age 20-younger climb free, while adults 21-older pay $5 to use the wall. Youth-adult interaction is encouraged, so an adult climbing with a youth pays no fee.
