Reason for joining fire service: Some people are interested in fighting fires, some people want to be part of emergency medical service, and some people are attracted to the specialty areas. I wanted to do it all.
Favorite aspect of the fire service: Firefighters truly are jacks-of-all-trades, but we are also masters of them all. Give us any challenge; we will face it and overcome it. That is one of the most awesome things about the fire service.
Reason nominated: Travis has really stepped up and taken the lead in helping people pass their EMT 1 class. He spent countless hours tutoring several individuals. As a live-in, Travis has been shift lead on C shift in Douglas and has ensured that his shift has accomplished all required duties.
