More people have donated to the state’s Pick. Click. Give. program during the first two weeks of January than donated during the program’s first year.
“If we keep up this pace, we’re on track to surpass year two dollars raised totals by the end of January,” said Kathy Day, spokesperson for the Rasmuson Foundation, The Foraker Group and Alaska Giving Coalition.
As of 6:30 a.m. Friday the state logged 199,491 PFD applications, with 7,253 individuals making 10,641 pledges for a total of $555,600
On the same date last year there were 192,175 applications, with 2,668 individuals making 4,002 pledges for a total of $252,500
During the first year, at the end of March 2009, the total was $545,000 raised.
