Michelle Villarma poured in 34 points and hit 10 of 14 free throws to lead the Wrangell High School girls basketball team to a 47-43 Homecoming win over visiting Petersburg on Saturday in Class 3A.

Villarma scored 12 of her 34 points in the decisive second quarter as the Wolves outscored the Vikings 25-15.
Courtney McCay had six points to go along with 10 rebounds while Britany Lindley, Dawson Fairbanks and Asia White added two points each for Wrangell (4-0).
Callie Bell led Petersburg with 15 points, while Chelsea Berg added nine in defeat. Tess Abbott had eight points, Ruby McMahon six, Ariel Norheim three and Emily Baldwin hit a free throw for the Vikings.
CLASS 3A GIRLS BASKETBALL
Wrangell 48, Petersburg 44
Michelle Villarma posted 21 points and hit 7 of 8 free throws to lead Wrangell past Petersburg on Friday.
Courtney McCay had 19 points and 10 boards, Dawson Fairbanks scored four points and Jessica Blunt added a field goal in the win.
Callie Bell and Chelsea Berg led Petersburg with 19 and 18 points, respectively.
Ruby McMahon, Michaela Silva and Emily Baldwin scored two points each and Tess Abbott hit a free throw for the Vikings.
CLASS 2A GIRLS BASKETBALL
Yakutat 36, Kake 30
Yakutat swept Kake on Jan. 8 with a tight victory.
Rose Fraker hit two 3-pointer in the fourth quarter and Heidi Esbenshade scored 12 points in the win. Esther Esbenshade and Sharnel Vale scored seven each for the Eagles.
Shaunte Sternod led the Thunderbirds with nine points while Sharissa Jackson, Nicole Wooton and Paulette Aceveda scored four each in defeat.
Yakutat 39, Kake 29
Rose Fraker scored 18 points and hit four 3-pointers to lift Yakutat past Kake on Jan. 7.
Heidi Esbenshade scored four points, Lorena Williams added seven points and Esther Esbenshade contributed six points for the Eagles.
Shaunte Sternod led Kake with 11 points and Paulette Aceveda chipped in eight points.
Yakutat 59, Klawock 22
Heidi Esbenshade and Lorena Williams posted 12 each as Yakutat upended Klawock on Jan. 2.
Esther Esbenshade scored 10 points, Rose Fraker added eight points while Sylvia Schumacher and Justyne Wheeler contributed four points each in the win. Katrina Fraker, Cherise Ryman and Sharnel Vale had three points each for Yakutat.
Natalie Skinna scored 10 points to lead Klawock. Noelle Demmert had seven points, Jennifer Plumley posted three points and Rachel Busse added two points in the loss.
Yakutat 67, Klawock 26
Ten players scored for Yakutat in the Eagles' rout of Klawock on Jan. 1.
Heidi Esbenshade and Lorena Williams scored 11 points each, Sylvia Schumacher and Rose Fraker had nine points each and Cherise Ryman posted seven points for Yakutat.

Yakutat 61, Kake 47
Yakutat upended Kake on Jan. 8 in a rematch of last year's Class 2A Southeast Region championship game.
Kyle Dierick poured in 25 points for the defending Class 2A state champs and Jay Sin added 24 points in the win. Eleven of Sin's 24 points came in the final quarter.
Jack Klushkan scored five points and Aaron Hensley chipped in three for Yakutat (9-0).
Trevor Rostad led the Thunderbirds with 17 points while Dean Cavanaugh and Jordan Lee scored eight each.
Adam Dolin had five points for Kake.
Yakutat 67, Kake 51
Visiting Yakutat received 23 points from Kyle Dierick to beat Kake on Jan. 7.
Jay Sin had 16 points, Jack Klushkan contributed 14 points and Carl Bogren chipped in six points in the win.
Tony Mach led Kake with 14 pints while Trevor Rostad scored 11 points and Dean Cavanaugh poured in 10 points.
Adam Dolan posted eight points and Dylan Lee scored four for the Thunderbirds.
Yakutat 95, Klawock 61
Kyle Dierick score 34 points and hit four 3-pointers in the first quarter as Yakutat routed visiting Klawock on Jan. 2.
Jay Sin added 30 points, Keith Ivers scored 11 points and Jack Klushkan had nine points in the win. Aaron Hensley, Shea Jackson and Lucas Wheeler also scored for the Eagles.
Three Klawock players scored in double-figures. James Washington had 15 points, Steve Colcord added 12 points and Chris Stockton scored 10 points in defeat.
Colby Wilson added nine points and Sean Hall scored six points for the Chieftains.
Yakutat 84, Klawock 55
Yakutat drained nine 3-point shots to beat Klawock on Jan. 1.
The Eagles' Jack Klushkan and Kyle Dierick scored 25 points each while Jay Sin added 14 points. Keith Ivers, Clinton Ivers, Carl Bogren, Lucas Wheeler, Shea Jackson and Aaron Hensley all added points in the win.
James Washington scored a game-high 26 points in defeat. Colby Wilson added seven points, Sean Hall posted six points, Joseph Sanderson and Chris Stockton chipped in five points each, Jeremy Meece hit two field goals and Jess Isaacs drained two free throws for the Chieftains.
