In a letter to the editor on Dec. 14, Suzanne Forsling pointed out how we all have one thing in common - life. Helen Monagle added the element of concern about Planned Parenthood, which threatens life through its programs of abortion.
Indeed, Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortions notwithstanding its other health programs.
Thus if we want to curb an obvious violent solution and look for more life-giving solutions, we must offer alternatives to abortion and not through Planned Parenthood.
We are concerned about the rise in violence in our society and in the world, but when violence is seen as a solution to stressful situations, what more can we expect but more violence.
Abortion is a violent and painful end to a baby's life and is the cause of most violent deaths in this country. Yet we do not seem concerned that a baby's life is taken, more women injured and more problems are created than solved.
Let's reaffirm life and offer women hope and help, not violence in their time of stress.
