Glacier Swim Club begins annual fundraiser
The Glacier Swim Club will kick off its annual Aqualaps fundraiser on today. Swimmers will be collecting pledges through April 9, when Aqualaps takes place. Members will have two hours to swim between 25 and 200 laps, according to their ability.
Glacier Swim Club is a nonprofit organization offering a year-round swim program for boys and girls from 5 to 18 years of age. The participants learn correct swim techniques, gain physical endurance and develop team spirit and sportsmanship. The swimmers travel throughout Alaska representing Juneau in competition. Aqualaps provides a significant part of the club's budget to make this happen.
