The Juneau Underground Motion Picture (JUMP) society's annual mid-winter festival opens at 7 and 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the Backroom at the Silverbow Inn.
It also plays at 7 and 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 27-28.
Tickets are free and can be picked up by visiting Lucid Reverie, on the bottom floor of the Emporium Mall behind Heritage Coffee, calling at 586-3440 or e-mailing email@example.com.
The festival has had more short submissions than ever before, but as of presstime a complete list of films was not available.
Ticket holders are urged to be in their seats at least five minutes before the show. Those without tickets should get there at least 30 minutes before showtime, as most showings sell out.
Warren Etheredge, the director of TheWarrenReport in Seattle, a teacher at the FilmSchool and the director of development for Lockspring Pictures, will also be returning to town for two film workshops, noon-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28 and 29.
Saturday's will cover the language of film and visual filmmaking, while Sunday's will focus on writing and directing for comedy.
Call 586-3440 if you plan to attend.
