Organization description: The Juneau chapter of the American Diabetes Association provides support groups for adults and children. They offer patient and professional education programs.
Years of service: 23.
Volunteer positions available: Volunteers are needed for ongoing fundraising. They are also needed to start and facilitate support groups, as well as staff tables at the health fair.
Hours: Times vary depending on volunteer position.
Training: The American Diabetes Association will provide guidelines for starting and facilitating a support group.
Special requirements: Background checks will be required for volunteers working directly with children.
In-kind donations: Airline miles for kids to go to Diabetes camp.
