It was a good discussion about polar bears, but that is what it is - a discussion. The only evidence I have seen shows there really is no evidence.
The sea ice may be moving, or going away, but listing the polar bear as a "threatened species" will have no effect on there being more or less ice. Whatever nature offers us will force both the human and the polar bear population to evolve or die.
Any attempt to blame an act of nature on President Bush and the Alaska congressional delegation is misguided, to say the least - and if the Empire is suggesting somehow a perceived problem with "global warming" is connected to human activity, then perhaps the Empire should be lending its voice to reducing the world population. Maybe we could start by closing the maternity wards across the country - or banning Viagra ads.
