Lucrecia Margarita Eldemar, 78 died Jan. 14, 2011 at Alaska Native Medical Center, Anchorage.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Viking Hall, 8141 Briarwood St., which is located behind Skateland on Dimond in Anchorage, followed by a gathering for food and refreshments. Father John Zabinko will officiate. Pallbearers will be Eddie Weathers and Craig Lightle. There will be another service that will be held in Juneau where she will be buried alongside other family members. Time and place is yet to be determined.
Lucrecia was born Aug. 10, 1932 in Juneau. She attended Mount Edgecombe High School in Sitka. She was married and later divorced Isturis Vincent, Jr. and Archie Nielsen.¿She worked as a medical secretary for the PHS at the Juneau Clinic and then moved to Anchorage and worked at the old Alaska Native Medical Center. She retired in 1985 because of her illness. She worked for the federal government for 37 years. She made many friends in Sitka and Anchorage. While in Anchorage, she continued to transcribe doctor’s reports in Peds Clinic. She was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church. She enjoyed bingo, fishing, and berry picking.
She is survived by her sister, Dora Queral of Sacramento, Calif.; brother Dan Eldemar of Juneau; daughters Eileen Weathers of Anchorage and Donna Lightle of Alexandria, Va.; three granddaughters, Jamie Weathers and Jessica Weathers of Anchorage and Samanthia Lightle of Alexandria; and one grandson, Alex Lightle of San Francisco and many nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Anna Eldemar; sisters Elsie Credo and Elaine Etukeok; and brothers, John and Dave Eldemar.
