KETCHIKAN — A 25-year-old Ketchikan man has been charged with pulling a gun on an off-duty Alaska State Trooper.
The Ketchikan Daily News reports Trooper James Kimura spotted Steven Doran on Monday at an outdoors and marine store and told Doran there were warrants out for his arrest.
Felony warrants out of Juneau charge Doran with controlled-substance misconduct, evasion and failure to report.
The officer says he asked Doran to turn around and put his hands behind his back. Doran instead reached into his pocket, pulled out a gun and brandished it.
Kimura says he grabbed the gun and wrestled Doran to the ground. The gun fell to the floor and an employee grabbed it.
