JUNEAU - A man was found dead at a Mendenhall Valley residence this morning from an apparent accident.
Troy Eric Winchester, 34, was pronounced dead on arrival when Capital City Fire and Rescue ambulance crew arrived this morning, according to CCFR's log book. Police are not releasing a cause of death or how they were alerted.
Sgt. John Boltjes, investigator in charge of this case, did not return several calls. In a press release, he said "A preliminary investigation by JPD officers, in consultation with the State Medical Examiner's Office, suggests Winchester's death was accidental."
Sgt. Kevin Siska said police are waiting for a toxicology screening results from an autopsy in order to determine the cause of death.
Police said Winchester's family has been notified of his death and his body has been released to the Alaska Mortuary.
