JUNEAU - Nearly 12,000 names may be removed from state voter rolls this spring.
The State Division of Elections recently mailed final notices to registered voters who have not voted or had contact with the division in the last four years. Voters who do not respond to the notice by March 4 will have their names removed from polling lists.
The list maintenance is part of an annual review.
The next statewide election is Aug. 24, when primaries will be held.
Voters who have been inactivated can still vote using a questioned ballot.
