FAIRBANKS - North Pole's water has been deemed OK to drink.

State officials say wells feeding the city water system have only trace amounts of the industrial chemical sulfolane, so there is no public emergency.

The city's wells are deeper than most private wells, which have detected higher levels of the chemical used in fuel production.
