When birdfeeders are outlawed, only outlaws will be having birdfeeders.

Democracy only works when people take part by voting. Elected officials know who voted and they are the ones they listen to.

If our local athletic referees had any pride in their job they wouldn't want to be labeled as a hometown referee. The ultimate goal for an official is to have nobody talking about them at all after a game because they had done such a good, fair and equal job.

Let's let the consumers decide whether or not to buy farmed salmon. If people buy it and it continues to sell then it should be there. If people decide they don't want it then it won't sell and the stores will take it out of stock.

An audit by a concerned group of citizens of how the city is spending our money will reveal millions that have gone into the pockets of special interests, such as the giveaway by the assembly of the cruise ship dock on South Franklin Street. The constitution was written by righteous men. Our system worked very well in the last general election.

I'd like to thank who ever was responsible for towing away all the abandoned and wrecked cars from behind the Alaska Laundry in the valley. I'd also like to know who paid for that service.

Our president, who was selected to be our leader on a platform of bipartisanship and compassionate conservatism, makes his first act one of complete emotional decisiveness. There goes a woman's right to choose.

Cab drivers have to pay $28 a year to get a background check done on themselves so they can get their chauffeur's permit. Cab drivers also pay $125 a year to park in the taxi zone at the airport. They don't park in the loading zones.
