Susan Bell is joining partners Eric McDowell and Jim Calvin in ownership of the McDowell Group, a research and consulting firm based in Juneau.
Bell is a 20-year veteran of the Alaska tourism industry and has been a McDowell Group employee since 2001.
Before joining the McDowell Group, Bell was vice president of tourism for Goldbelt, a Juneau-based Native corporation. She worked for several convention and visitor bureaus, hotels and tour companies throughout the state. She is an Alaska Native originally from Nome.
"Her tourism marketing and operations background are extremely valuable for our tourism-related projects," said McDowell, the firm's manager and senior partner. "In addition, Susan has contributed to several McDowell Group projects in other fields including shareholder surveys for Alaska Native corporations and the recently completed report Economic and Program Impacts of the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium."
The McDowell Group offers market research, economic analysis, feasibility studies, and business and community development planning. The firm has offices in Juneau and Anchorage, a full-time staff of 12 employees, and a large pool of survey staff.
